Health and Safety Policy

1. Medical Checkups and No Objection Letter
  • The school will conduct periodic health checkups for students with the help of authorized government from Karnataka Educational Department.
  • If any government officials or external medical teams conduct student health checkups, parents must sign a No Objection Letter after reading all terms and conditions.
  • Some students may experience panic or anxiety during medical checkups. The school staff will ensure that the process is handled calmly and reassuringly.
  • Parents who do not wish their child to participate in medical checkups must submit a written request to the school before the scheduled date.
  • Any medical reports generated from school health checkups will be shared with parents for their reference.
2. Administration of Medicines
  • The school will not provide any medicines to students without prior written consent from parents.
  • If a student requires daily medication, parents must submit a doctor’s prescription and a written authorization letter to the school.
  • In case of emergency, first aid will be provided immediately, and parents will be contacted for further medical assistance.
  • Parents must ensure that any existing medical conditions, allergies, or special health requirements are documented with the school administration.
  • If a student requires emergency medication (such as an inhaler, insulin, or an EpiPen), the school must be informed in advance with proper documentation.
3. Medical Emergencies
  • If a student falls sick or suffers an injury during school hours, parents will be informed immediately.
  • In case of a serious medical emergency, the school will take the following actions:
    • Administer first aid.
    • Contact parents or the emergency contact person.
    • If necessary, arrange for medical treatment at the nearest hospital.
  • If parents cannot be reached, the school will proceed with emergency medical care, and parents will be notified as soon as possible.
  • Parents must ensure that their child’s emergency contact details are up-to-date in school records.
  • Parents must immediately report any medical emergencies or new health conditions of the child to the school.
4. Hygiene and Cleanliness
  • Students must maintain personal hygiene by keeping their uniforms, shoes, and belongings clean.
  • Parents must ensure their children come to school in clean and proper uniforms as per school guidelines.
  • The school has a strict handwashing policy, and students are encouraged to wash their hands before meals and after using the restroom.
  • Washrooms will be cleaned and sanitized multiple times a day to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Any student displaying symptoms of contagious diseases (such as fever, flu, or skin infections) should not be sent to school and must be given proper rest and treatment at home.
  • Students are not allowed to share personal items such as water bottles, food, combs, or handkerchiefs to prevent the spread of infections.
  • If a student has lice or any other hygiene-related concerns, the school will notify parents to take appropriate action.
5. School Premises and Safety Regulations
  • Entry to the school premises is strictly controlled; unauthorized persons will not be allowed inside school grounds.
  • All school gates will remain closed during class hours for security reasons, and only authorized visitors will be allowed entry.
  • Parents must cooperate with security protocols when visiting the school and should carry an identity card if requested.
  • Students must not leave the school premises during school hours without prior written approval from parents and school administration.
  • Any accidental damage to school property by students must be reported immediately, and parents may be required to bear the cost of repairs.
6. Emergency Drills and Safety Awareness
  • The school will conduct fire drills and emergency evacuation drills regularly.
  • Students must strictly follow the instructions of teachers and staff during any emergency procedure.
  • A designated safety officer will oversee all school safety protocols and ensure students are well-informed about emergency procedures.
  • All emergency exits will be clearly marked, and staff will guide students on safe evacuation routes.
7. Food and Allergies
  • Parents must inform the school in writing about any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions their child has.
  • The school does not allow junk food, soft drinks, or any non-permitted food items in lunchboxes.
  • Students are encouraged to carry healthy meals from home, and the school canteen will serve nutritious and hygienic food.
  • In case of a food allergy emergency, the school will administer first aid and contact parents immediately.
8. Physical Activities and Sports Safety
  • Students participating in sports or physical activities must follow safety rules and wear required protective gear.
  • If a student has any medical condition that restricts physical activities, parents must submit a doctor’s certificate to the school.
  • Any injury sustained during sports activities must be reported immediately to the school nurse or medical officer.
  • Students must stay hydrated and should carry a water bottle during outdoor activities.
9. Visitor and Pickup Safety
  • Only authorized guardians can pick up a student from school.
  • Parents must inform the school in advance if someone other than the registered guardian is picking up their child.
  • For pre-primary and primary students, parents/guardians must be present at the pickup and drop-off points.
  • Parents should not crowd school gates at pickup and drop-off times to ensure smooth movement of students.
  • If a parent is running late, they must inform the school so that alternative arrangements can be made.
10. Reporting Safety Concerns
  • Parents and students are encouraged to report any safety concerns to the school administration immediately.
  • The school will ensure strict confidentiality while addressing such concerns.
  • If a student faces bullying, harassment, or any unsafe situation, they should immediately report it to a teacher, counselor, or school authority.
  • The school will take strict disciplinary action against any behavior that threatens the safety of students.
11. Monitoring and Review
11.1 Regular Safety Audits
  • The school will conduct periodic health and safety audits to ensure all facilities, including medical rooms, restrooms, and playgrounds, meet required safety standards.
  • Feedback from parents, students, and staff will be collected regularly to assess and improve health and safety measures.
  • The school management will review and update safety policies annually to align with the latest health guidelines and best practices.
11.2 CCTV Monitoring
  • The entire school premises, including classrooms, corridors, entry gates, and playgrounds, will be monitored through CCTV cameras.
  • CCTV footage will be reviewed periodically to ensure student safety and discipline.
  • CCTV footage will not be shared with parents or any other 3rd party under any circumstances to maintain privacy and security protocols.
11.3 Bus Tracking System
  • The GPS tracking system installed in school buses must be monitored by parents through the school’s designated app for real-time location updates.
  • Bus drivers and attendants must ensure the GPS system is functional at all times and report any technical issues immediately.
  • In case of delays or route changes, the transport department will send real-time notifications to parents.
  • Parents must ensure they track the bus on the app and be present at the designated pickup/drop-off point on time.
